I am a Brian Burke fan, so my opinion may be a bit bias, but I thought this book was fabulous. I'm normally a pretty slow, casual reader. Over the course of 2-3 months, I might finish a 400 page book. I finished this one in less than two weeks. The "behind the scenes" look into the hockey world, is something we've started to see over the past few years, but this book takes it to another level. He talks more about his career than his childhood, which he made a point of saying in an interview on the NHL Network Radio, and I why that was important to him. I'm not here to write a review on the man's personal life, but the way the book was written was fabulous. Would not recommend as a gift for kids, there is quite a bit of foul language, but I didn't find it offensive as it isn't a swear word every other sentence. Really enjoyed this book. The writing style is true to Burkie's personality. I respect guys like Brian Burke and John Tortorella for being tough but fair. Lately the hockey world was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons because coaches who appear mild mannered in the public eyes but mistreated players behind closed doors but you dont hear any of it about Burkie and Torts. This book reaffirms what I always thought what kind of a man Burke is. Thanks for a great read and the life lessons.
