I really enjoyed this book, falling in love with Allison's character, as anyone who has felt like the outsider at that age. In reading some of the other reviews I see a star or two taken away because some felt it was too soft or romantic. I personally did not interpret the characters as such. Not to spoil the story, but no the two did not run away from one another for half the book after realizing they had feelings for one another, and no there was no misunderstanding about another woman driving a wedge between the two, AKA this book did not follow the standard formula of so many romance novels.The real journey was Elena and Allison (or Alson as Lucas called her) not only finding one another, but both overcoming their issues to allow the other to care and accept themselves and their budding relationship. Allison had always been alone and her defenses were high, she possessed a sharp wit and even sharper tongue, but in essense her defense was to run. Elena was her polar opposite, in as such as family, wealth, maturity, yet true be told they both were lost until they found one another.You will not be disappointed with this book. My first question is when is the sequel coming out because this book just begs for more story. I now have to know what happens to Elena and Allison as individuals and as a couple down the road. There is a satisfying ending but not a crumb of information as to what the future holds for them. No usual epilogue which is fine if we get a book two.Elena, a wealthy powerhouse in the fashion business, is back on the dating scene and so she hires a college student to babysit her son while she’s out on these dates. Young Ms. Allison is beautiful, sweet, and sharply intelligent with an already weary heart from her childhood raised in the foster system.I really needed a funny book at this time and Popcorn Love was perfect. It had me belly laughing in the beginning and as the two women found each other, had me oohing and ahhing. There was some steam but it was mixed in nicely with affectionate moments. As for 3 year old Lucas, the cuteness factor zoomed into overload as soon as he entered the picture.This is a happy pill romance with just the tiniest bit of angst. I’m looking forward to reading book 2 (hopefully) and The Art of Us which I also have in my library.
